Al Yammahi earned her Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from Massey University in New Zealand, with a focus on the impact of a positive work environment on employee performance, thereby shaping her approach to leadership and management in the education sector.

Al Yammahi also worked with UNESCO as a director in the UAE’s National Commission for Education, Culture & Science. Throughout her career, she has visited and collaborated with education systems in countries including Finland, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, and the USA.

Al Mazrouei is spearheading the promotion of the UAE as a favorable environment for investors, venture capitalists and venture capital deals. The UAE was ranked first in the MENA region in terms of the number of venture capital deals in the first half of 2024, according to a report by venture capital analytics experts MAGNiTT.

Elham Mahfouz is an accomplished banker with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the American University in Cairo.

She began her career at the Commercial Bank of Kuwait (CBK) in 2000 as manager of international banking. Over the years, she has held progressively senior executive roles, including general manager of the New York branch, Acting GM of international banking, and GM of international banking in December 2010. In April 2012, she was promoted to deputy CEO and later appointed as the CEO of the bank on November 20, 2014.

Prior to joining CBK, Mahfouz gained extensive experience working with several prominent financial institutions in Kuwait, amassing decades of expertise and a proven track record in financial services.

In its most recent review, Fitch Ratings said CBK’s profitability is one of its rating strengths, supported by adequate business generation, good net interest margin and cost efficiency, in addition to low net provisioning charges due to recoveries of written-off loans.

The report also added that the bank’s annualized operating profit/risk weighted assets (RWAs) ratio was stable at 3 percent in the first nine months of 2024. Fitch expects lower profitability due to declining interest rates but to remain adequate with an operating profit/RWAs ratio of 2.5 percent this year.

Under her leadership, CBK continues to go from strength to strength, with total assets reaching $14.94 billion as of 30 September 2024.

With over 25 years of experience in banking and financial services, she brings a wealth of industry knowledge to her role.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Information Management from George Washington University.

Under her watch, FAB delivered strong results in 2024, with group net profit rising to AED 17.1 billion, a 4 percent increase year-on-year (YoY), on the back of a 15 percent growth in revenue to AED 31.6 billion.

The bank’s profit before tax climbed 13 percent YoY to AED 19.9 billion, driven by higher client activity, robust business volumes, diverse income streams, and continuous operational efficiencies across its operations. This performance reflects sustained growth in both scale and profitability, reinforcing FAB’s position as one of the UAE’s solid institutions.

In the fourth quarter of 2024, net profit reached AED 4.2 billion, up 4 percent YoY, while revenue surged 11 percent YoY to AED 7.7 billion.

Additionally, she co-chairs the joint advisory board of Weill Cornell Medicine, serves as vice chair of the board of the Qatar Precision Medicine Institute, and is a member of the Qatar University Board of Regents, the Sidra Medicine board of governors, the board of directors of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, and Qatar Foundation’s Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation Council.

Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi made history as the first woman in the UAE to hold a ministerial role when she was appointed Minister of Economy in November 2004.

Throughout her career, Sheikha Lubna has held numerous positions in the government. She managed the Dubai branch of the General Authority of Specialized Information, served as senior manager of IT Management at Dubai Ports Authority, and led the executive team at Dubai E-Government, overseeing key initiatives that have transformed the public sector.

She was also the CEO and later chairperson of Tejari, the region’s pioneering e-commerce platform, and served as chairperson of the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority from 2004 to 2008.

Her long and distinguished career has earned her numerous local and international awards and recognitions, including the Arab Technology Award for Outstanding Contribution to E-commerce in 2005; the American Business Award from the American Business Council of Dubai and the Northern Emirates in 2004; the Entrepreneurship Award given by the House of Lords in Great Britain in 2004; IT Woman of the Year from Datamatix in 2001; and IT Woman of the Year from the American Business Council of Dubai and the Northern Emirates in 2001.

She is the vice president of Sharjah-based Kalimat Foundation, a non-profit organisation which aims to build better prospects for children’s learning.

In this capacity, she played a leading role in advancing the UAE’s efforts to tackle climate change, protect ecosystems, boost biodiversity, and enhance food security. She was instrumental in developing and implementing strategies and policies that had a meaningful impact on the environment.

Almheiri’s extensive experience includes serving as Minister of State for Food Security, and later as Minister of State for Food and Water Security, where she was appointed in June 2020. In these roles, she was responsible for managing the country’s food and water supply, directing investments in food technology, and building international collaborations. She also led the development of infrastructure to ensure the nation’s food security in line with the UAE Centennial 2071 goals.

Almheiri held leadership roles at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), overseeing biodiversity, fisheries, coastal sustainability, and marine research.

Almheiri holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen University in Germany (RWTH).

Al Marri holds several prestigious positions, including director general of the Government of Dubai Media Office, president of the Dubai Press Club, secretary general of the Arab Media Award, chairperson of both the Organizing Committee of the Arab Media Forum and the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit.

She is also the vice chairman and managing director of the Dubai Media Council, established by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. She joined the airline as part of its second group of cadet pilots, embarking on a journey that would see her break barriers in the aviation industry. Al Baloushi began her training at the Horizon International Flight Academy in Al Ain, where she completed her pilot education in September 2007. Over the course of her training, she accumulated 750 hours of classroom instruction and 205 hours of flight time, mastering the fundamentals of flying, navigation, and technical aspects of aviation.

Al Baloushi went on to become the first Emirati woman to graduate from Etihad’s cadet program as a co-pilot. She achieved another milestone when she operated her first flight as a first officer on June 9, 2011, flying flight EY 091 from Abu Dhabi to Athens. Today, she serves as a senior investigator for the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
