SAMENA Council’s Leaders’ Summit 2024 special coverage by Economy Middle East

The 15th SAMENA Council Leaders’ Summit, themed “Evolving Toward Integrated, Intelligent, and Sustainable Infrastructure,” exemplified innovation and collaboration within the telecommunications sector.

The annual international industry leaders’ congregation covered discussions centered on Leading the 5G-A (5G-Advanced) Era, Cyber Resilience for Business, GCC’s Spectrum Opportunities, Sustainable Digital Transformation, Digital Innovation & Choice, and the Space & Satellite Ecosystem.

Chief among the topics of conversation was the Huawei-hosted 5G-A forum, “Leading the 5G-A Era: Evolution & Deployment Experience.” This seminar provided a venue for discussing the possibilities of 5G-A, highlighting the successful use cases of 5G-A, and emphasizing its critical role in reshaping a range of industries and ushering in a new era of unmatched connectivity and innovation for telecom providers, businesses, and more.

Furthermore, a panel discussion titled “Ecosystems and Business Development in the 5G-A Era,” featuring high-profile speakers, delved into the upcoming commercialization of 5G-A in 2024.

During the summit, the UAE launched 5G-A country and announced plans for the UAE to set sail for 5G-A nationwide. The announcement was made in the presence of senior representatives from TDRA, e&, du, SAMENA Council, GSMA, WBBA, MEIG, and SHOWMAC.

Additionally, industry leaders announced the Middle East Glasses-Free 3D Industry Initiative, aiming to propel the large-scale commercialization of glasses-free 3D technology.
