Interview with Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, executive director, International Monetary Fund at the Economy Middle East Summit

During the Economy Middle East Summit 2024, Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, UN Special Envoy on Financing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Executive Director, International Monetary Fund (IMF), discussed the recent statement by the IMF managing director Kristalina Georgieva regarding economic divergence and the need for countries with weaker fiscal policies to protect themselves.

Furthermore, he emphasized the suffering of developing economies, including middle and low-income countries with limited market access, and urged economic powers to cooperate and minimize tendencies towards trade protectionism and investment restrictions.
