Fatima Abdulrahman, director of Government Communications at the UAE Ministry of Economy, emphasized that the UAE tourism partnership with the 1 Billion Followers Summit, which draws over 15,000 content creators, will shine a spotlight on the UAE’s outstanding tourism services and products, thereby further enhancing the nation’s global tourism identity.
Boosting domestic tourism revenue
In her remarks to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) during the second day of the third edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, Fatima Abdulrahman noted that the World’s Coolest Winter campaign continues to deliver significant positive outcomes across numerous sectors and tourism activities. This UAE tourism partnership plays a crucial role in boosting domestic tourism revenue, increasing hotel earnings, and enhancing the appeal of the UAE to visitors from around the globe. “This edition of the campaign focuses on showcasing the country’s diverse environments, the charm of its natural landscapes, and its wonderful winter weather, particularly promoting green tourism,” she stated.
Furthermore, she highlighted that the summit serves as an annual, globally recognized platform that links the content of the World’s Coolest Winter campaign with actual tourist experiences, thereby broadening the reach of the campaign and its digital content both regionally and internationally.

Contributions to hotel revenues
Fatima Abdulrahman also pointed out that over the past four editions, the campaign has achieved remarkable and robust results for the UAE’s tourism sector, contributing to hotel revenues nearing AED1 billion from January 9 to February 20, 2024. She added that this UAE tourism partnership aligns with the objectives of the National Tourism Strategy 2031 by elevating the UAE’s status as the premier global tourism identity, reinforcing its position as a leading tourist destination by the end of the decade, increasing the tourism sector’s contribution to the national GDP to AED450 billion, and attracting new investments worth AED100 billion.
