Sharjah Taxi has recently announced that 83 percent of its fleet now consists of hybrid and eco-friendly vehicles that run on both fuel and electricity. This initiative falls under Sharjah Taxi’s plan to achieve a 100 percent eco-friendly fleet by 2027. This commitment also aligns with the UAE’s goal of adopting sustainable solutions and reducing carbon emissions.
“Driven by our commitment to achieving sustainable development, we at Sharjah Taxi continuously work on developing and updating our fleet,” stated Khalid Al-Kindi, general manager of Sharjah Taxi.
Al-Kindi added that this effort supports sustainable transportation solutions and provides eco-friendly alternatives, including electric and hybrid vehicles. Moreover, it supports “Sharjah’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and benefit society, the economy, and the environment while aligning with the wise leadership’s goals and vision of establishing smart, sustainable, and more liveable cities for the future”, Al-Kindi added.
Sharjah Taxi offers multiple comprehensive services to its customers, including city taxi services, airport taxi services, and women’s taxi services. The company also offers family taxi services, luxury vehicle services (limousine), school student transport services (Rafaq), services for people with disabilities, and taxi services for the Eastern and Central regions.
