His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, will begin an official visit to the Republic of Singapore on Tuesday, at the invitation of Singapore’s Prime Minister.
During the visit, Sheikh Khaled will meet with His Excellency Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of Singapore, along with senior officials and CEOs from leading Singaporean companies in key sectors including advanced technology, artificial intelligence and urban planning.
The discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation across key sectors of mutual interest, benefitting both nations and their people.
Trade ties bolstered
In 2022, the UAE exported $14.4 billion worth of products to Singapore, according to the Observatory of Economic Complexity. The main products exported from the UAE to Singapore were crude petroleum ($8.22 billion), refined petroleum ($4.07 billion), and gold ($743 million). During the last five years, the UAE’s exports to Singapore have increased at an annualized rate of 10.8 percent, from $8.61 billion in 2017 to $14.4 billion in 2022.
Meanwhile, Singapore’s exports to the UAE have increased at an annualized rate of 11.1 percent, from $2.71 billion in 2017 to $4.6 billion in 2022.
Sheikh Khaled expands UAE’s global reach
Earlier this month, Sheikh Khaled visited Norway. During his official visit, he met with several CEOs from leading Norwegian companies, as part of their participation in the UAE-Norway Investment Forum, held alongside the official visit. During the meeting, Sheikh Khaled underscored the UAE leadership’s commitment to strengthening economic cooperation with its international partners. He also highlighted that investment in innovation and knowledge is a cornerstone for achieving sustainable development.
During the visit, Sheikh Khaled held meetings with His Royal Highness Haakon Magnus, Crown Prince of Norway, and Jonas Gahr Støre, Prime Minister of Norway. The discussions explored ways to further enhance cooperation across key sectors and highlighted new opportunities for collaboration between the UAE and Norway. Discussions with Støre focused on advancing economic, trade, and investment cooperation across key sectors including energy, infrastructure, advanced technology, renewable energy, air transport, and scientific research.
The visit to Norway came following Sheikh Khaled’s official visit to Qatar, where he held talks with the Emir of Qatar and the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. The visit also sought to enhance cooperation across strategic sectors between the two GCC states.

Sheikh Khaled visits India
In early September, Sheikh Khaled also met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of his visit to India. The official visit of Sheikh Khaled highlighted the deep-rooted and longstanding strategic and historic relations between the two countries.
In addition, it marked a major stride in the ongoing development of UAE-India ties, which have become an international model of constructive cooperation, particularly in areas such as economic and sustainable development, investment, trade, climate action, and promoting global stability and peace.
