Abu Dhabi approves $593.62 million housing package for 1,502 citizens

With the disbursement of this package, the total value of housing benefits provided by the authority exceeds $40.57 billion since its establishment.

In accordance with the instructions of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has given his approval for the first disbursement of the housing and benefits package for the year 2024 to the residents of Abu Dhabi. The total value of these benefits is estimated to be AED2.18 billion ($593.62 million), and they have been distributed among 1,502 citizens throughout the emirate.

The housing benefits package comprises various components, including housing loans, ready-built houses, and grants for residential land. The total value of these components exceeds AED2.082 billion, and they have provided assistance to 1,407 citizens. Moreover, senior citizens, retirees with low incomes, and the families of deceased citizens have been exempted from housing loan payments, resulting in an amount of over AED98 million. This exemption has directly benefited 95 citizens in the emirate.

According to Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, the distribution of this year’s initial housing benefits package reflects the ongoing commitment of our esteemed leadership to fulfill the requirements of our citizens and cater to their housing needs. This endeavor aims to enhance the well-being of our citizens and their families, foster stability, and foster strong bonds within the emirate, all while promoting its holistic progress, he added.

The distribution of this year’s initial housing benefits package coincides with the upcoming Eid Al Fitr, which demonstrates the leadership’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of Emirati families. This initiative aims to provide suitable housing that fulfills their needs, improves their welfare, and supports their stability and overall quality of life. In doing so, it contributes to the continuous comprehensive development of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

With the disbursement of this package, the cumulative value of housing benefits provided since the establishment of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority exceeds AED149 billion ($40.57 billion).
