Amazon announced today the opening of its largest last-mile delivery station in Abu Dhabi in time for the July Prime Day event. The 4,700 sqm state-of-the-art delivery station is the country’s second largest, offering same-day and one-day deliveries to customers throughout the city, including those in outlying areas like Al Samha, Al Shawamekh, Yas, and Saadiyat Islands, Bani Yas, and Al Wathba.

The new delivery station will employ hundreds of full- and part-time workers in a variety of jobs for people with different levels of expertise, education, background, and skills. All employees are eligible for training programs that will upskill UAE talent in the future-facing eCommerce sector, from delivery station associates to positions in operations, health and safety, supply chain technology, and analytics. The station will also provide new opportunities for the country’s Delivery Service Partners.

The launch of the new facility follows Amazon’s announcement in November last year with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) of the opening of its most technologically advanced Fulfillment Centre in the region, which will open its doors in the capital in 2023. The new Fulfillment Center and delivery station demonstrate Amazon’s commitment to advancing innovation and technology in the Emirate, which is in line with Abu Dhabi’s innovation agenda.

The delivery station supports Abu Dhabi’s efforts to encourage innovation by leveraging Amazon’s global logistics technologies, which are based on the company’s 20+ years of operational expertise. Amazon’s new delivery station will help the company provide a reliable and convenient delivery experience for its customers by offering same-day and one-day delivery options.
