The Directorate General of Traffic and Patrols at Abu Dhabi Police has launched a smart robot that interacts with the public, answers questions and enhances traffic awareness on the emirate’s streets. The human-like robot will interact with the public to raise awareness of public and traffic safety.

Brigadier Mahmoud Yousef Al Balushi, Director of the Directorate General of Traffic and Patrols, stated that AI technology has enhanced efforts, shortened time and provided fruitful results in police and security work.

In addition, it positively impacts the well-being and happiness of Abu Dhabi’s residents by being proactive in providing services that keep pace with the latest global developments. Furthermore, the Abu Dhabi Police’s robot contributes to the adoption of technology applications in digital traffic awareness and education by displaying digital traffic videos.

Major Ahmed Abdullah Al Muhairi, director of the Smart Traffic Robots Project at the Directorate General of Traffic and Patrols, said that the new robot was programmed under the supervision of national cadres from the directorate and was designed to raise awareness and interact with the public at various events and exhibitions and educate drivers, road users and pedestrians on Abu Dhabi’s traffic safety guidelines.

Abu Dhabi Police’s smart robot can perform multiple functions including displaying digital traffic awareness videos, responding to public inquiries and customer inquiries at customer happiness and service centers, providing traffic advice, and delivering educational lectures. In addition, it provides safety instructions to pedestrians, school students, and school buses, among other functions.
