H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of Investopia, recently announced the upcoming edition of the Investopia summit. The summit will be held in Abu Dhabi on 28 -29 February, 2024. “Emerging Economic Frontiers: Investing in Fast-Growing Sectors in the New Economy” will be its theme. It will include several prominent local and international figures, investors, government officials, decision-makers, and entrepreneurs.

Cooperative collaborations

The summit’s announcement came during a press conference today in the presence of Investopia partners, investors, and over 75 officials.

The conference witnessed the signing of eight memorandums of understanding between Investopia and its partners for the third edition. Among them are the General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates (GCAA). The conference also witnessed a collaboration with the prominent global forum for entrepreneurship and investment SALT and EFG Consulting. Standard Chartered, Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), and Citibank also participated in the conference. The partnerships aim to cooperate in organizing the third edition of the investment summit Investopia 2024.

“The Investopia summit is one of the most important projects of the UAE in transitioning towards the new economic model” stated His Excellency. “The summit has succeeded in presenting a unique and innovative model for global investment events, and building partnerships with global institutions and companies. Investopia will continue its vital role as an influential player in the regional and international investment arena” he added. The summit with generate opportunities in new economic sectors and strengthen the link between global business communities and the UAE.

Three main themes

Al marri elaborated that the summit focuses on three main themes: Global Dialogues, Investment Communities, and Investopia Marketplace. The first theme will explore key topics that are shaping the global investment ecosystem strategies for risk capital transactions.  Job creation, growth potential for a low-carbon economy, and the new generation of investment are also topics of interest.

The second theme “contributes to promoting dialogue between investors and decision-makers in governments and the private sector globally” he added.

Meanwhile, the third theme focuses on enhancing the use of the Investopia Marketplace platform. This connects capital and investment funds around the world and provides the largest investment opportunity database.

Events and activities

The new Investopia summit will feature a series of events and activities to be held in Abu Dhabi. This includes interactive sessions and closed roundtables at the government level on investment opportunities in the UAE and global markets. It will also highlight the shifts in the global investment climate in light of developments that created new economic concepts. Thus, concepts like virtual reality and green and sustainable economies will have implications for investment priorities in critical sectors. Critical sectors include food technology, clean energy, climate technology, modern transport technologies, shipping, and logistics.

During the press conference, Al Marri also reviewed Investopia’s achievements since its inception in 2021. The summit hosted eight rounds of global dialogues and discussions in prominent strategic markets. This includes New York, Geneva, New Delhi, Mumbai, Cairo, Rabat, Havana and Milan.  Moreover, the summit witnessed the signing of 10 partnerships with global institutions and companies.

Increase in the number of participants

Investopia also succeeded in increasing the number of participants in its events. It reached more than 350 executives and officials in 2023 compared to 200 CEOs in 2022.

Moreover, the number of participating countries increased from 45 countries in 2022 to 58 countries in 2023, with 150 speakers. This reflects Investopia’s continued growth in connecting the UAE with business communities. Thus, it is creating new economic opportunities that promote global economic growth.

The conference also highlighted the global dialogues that Investopia will organize in cooperation with its partners throughout the year. Most notably, the UAE-India Investopia which will be held in Dubai, Investopia London in London, and Investopia Europe in Milan.
