Etihad Airways landed for the first time in Denpasar, Bali on Wednesday, marking the launch of its regular services between Abu Dhabi and the tourist island destination. The airline will operate flights to Bali four times per week on the state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner featuring Etihad’s renowned Business Studios and Economy Smart seats.

“We are thrilled to add Bali to the growing list of destinations we serve directly from Abu Dhabi. It has become our second destination in Indonesia, adding to the capital Jakarta. We look forward to connecting our guests from the Middle East, Europe, and across our global network with the Indonesian tropical island,” stated Arik De, Etihad’s chief revenue and commercial officer.

Earlier last week, Etihad Airways announced a major expansion which includes flights to eight new destinations, bringing the total number of operating routes this summer to 76.

“We are launching flights to three important sites – Bali, Jaipur and Al Qassim – which are already proving popular with our guests based on forward-bookings,” said Antonoaldo Neves, CEO at Etihad.

Etihad Airways also began operating direct flights to summer destinations such as Nice on the French Riviera and Antalya on the Turkish Riviera. The airline also returned to the Greek islands of Mykonos and Santorini. Earlier in June, Etihad relaunched its services to the popular Spanish holiday resort of Málaga for the season.

Last week, Etihad launched services directly to Jaipur, known as the “pink city” and a major tourist hotspot in Rajasthan, India. This marks Etihad’s 11th gateway into India, further cementing the airline’s commitment to the Indian market through increased connectivity and convenience.
