Abu Dhabi Airports Free Zone (ADAFZ) has recently announced its partnership with MSM Logistic to build a new warehousing facility in Al Falah District, enhancing the emirate’s trade and economic development.

The partnership will work on the development of a 28,623-square-meter plot to offer flexible storage solutions. This provides additional facilities for both local and international businesses in the logistics sector. Officially announced at ADIPEC 2023 following the signing of a Musataha agreement, the project represents a total investment value of AED85 million ($23.14 million).

Al Falah District

Located to the east of Zayed International Airport, the 8.3 square kilometers Al Falah District is one of the free zone districts under ADAFZ and the largest in its portfolio. Al Falah District offers modern infrastructure and a functionally planned urban landscape. This makes it an ideal location for investors in Abu Dhabi for cargo, logistics services, and light manufacturing.

“This collaboration with MSM Logistic marks a significant milestone for ADAFZ, highlighting our commitment to progress and innovation in Al Falah District,” stated Wilson Chan, senior vice president of free zone cargo and logistics at ADAFZ. Chan added that the project seeks to bolster trade and economic development in Abu Dhabi. Moreover, it aims to support the UAE’s economic diversification efforts.

Driving trade and investment inflows

Notably, ADAFZ plays a key role in attracting foreign director investment (FDI) to the UAE by providing a conducive environment for business growth. The zone is also working on several other developments including the East Midfield Cargo Terminal (EMCT) and the expansion of Business Park and Logistics Park.

As the first tenant in Al Falah District, MSM Logistic aims to pave the way for future leasable light industrial unit warehousing projects. The investment also reflects MSM’s commitment to the region and its utilization of infrastructure to bolster the logistics sector.

“The warehouse we are working on now will be ready to welcome our partners in Q1 2025 and will be the first to tie in when the large-scale infrastructure project in Al Falah is in full swing,” stated Evgeniy Gurkin, General Manager of MSM Logistic.
