ADIO, DMT announce tender for development of new community markets in Al Dhafra
Submission of proposals opened today, July 1, and will close on August 14, 2025

The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), in collaboration with the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), announced on Tuesday a new public tender under the Musataha program, and is inviting fully Emirati-owned businesses registered with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) to participate and submit proposals for the design, build, maintenance and operation of community markets in four locations in Al Dhafra; Al Marfa, Bayah Al Sila, Madinat Zayed and Ghayathi.

These community markets will contribute to the local economy by offering high-quality retail and service spaces that meet the daily needs of residents in those areas. These markets will play a vital role in strengthening community infrastructure and supporting the local economy, reflecting the emirate’s commitment to enhancing quality of life and promoting sustainable development.

Submission of proposals opened today, July 1, and will close on August 14, 2025.

Earlier this year, ADIO and DMT invited businesses owned by Emirati citizens to participate in the public tender and submit proposals for the design, build, maintenance and operation of commercial markets in two locations in Abu Dhabi: Al Shamkhah and Al Khatm.

These commercial markets will support the local economy by providing nearby communities with premium retail spaces and services. The project aligns with DMT’s efforts to improve commercial infrastructure and address the growing need for such facilities in these strategic locations.

By launching these community markets, ADIO aims to accelerate Abu Dhabi’s growth and enable the emirate’s economic transformation. Initiatives focused on regional tourism and retail development, as well as public-private partnerships, ensure that community well-being is at the center of Abu Dhabi’s economic transformation.
