ADIPEC 2024 has firmly established itself as one of the globe’s most significant and commercially successful energy events, bringing together a record number of attendees, industry leaders, and international ministers to propel sustainable socioeconomic advancement worldwide.
Under the theme of ‘Connecting Minds. Transforming Energy’, this year’s ADIPEC marked a milestone in four decades of energy leadership, attracting an unprecedented 205,139 participants from 172 countries. This turnout underscores the UAE’s role as a global nexus for energy, technology, and innovation. The event saw a notable increase in global participation, with over 20,000 more attendees than in the previous year.
New conferences and insights
The ADIPEC Conference program introduced four new conferences, inviting fresh perspectives from sectors such as technology and AI, finance, youth, and the Global South. Over the course of 370 sessions, more than 1,800 international speakers, including 40 ministers, shared insights on the economic opportunities that arise from cross-sector collaboration.
Historic success and economic impact
This edition, WAM reported, was the most successful in its 40-year history, facilitating over $10 billion in cross-sector deals through various strategic partnerships. Moreover, participants rallied around a call to action from Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, UAE minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC managing director and group CEO, who emphasized the transformative potential of three megatrends: the rise of the Global South and emerging markets, the growth of artificial intelligence (AI), and the transformation of energy systems.

Tayba Al Hashemi, chair of ADIPEC 2024 and CEO of ADNOC Offshore, noted that the record-breaking 40th edition of ADIPEC successfully convened leading minds across diverse industries and geographies to explore value creation opportunities and innovative solutions for a more sustainable energy future. She added that with a dedicated emphasis on the transformative power of AI, ADIPEC provided a global platform to unlock economic opportunities through cross-sector collaboration and expressed anticipation for an even more impactful ADIPEC in November 2025.
ENACT Majlis
On the eve of ADIPEC, the ENACT Majlis reiterated the theme of collaboration, highlighting the economic potential achievable through sector cooperation and the integration of energy and AI. The majlis, hosted by Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, gathered 80 global leaders from the energy, technology, climate, and investment sectors to explore the opportunities presented by the AI-Energy-Climate Nexus.
AI zone launch
The debut of ADIPEC’s AI Zone further illustrated the interconnected nature of energy and AI, emphasizing the necessity of cross-sector collaboration to meet the rapid energy demands of AI while leveraging AI to enhance energy efficiency and reduce emissions.
Collaboration and innovation
Collaboration across nations and sectors was a recurring theme throughout ADIPEC’s 16 exhibition halls, where over 2,200 exhibitors and 30 country pavilions came together to forge new partnerships and strategies aimed at driving sustainable socioeconomic growth. Additionally, innovation emerged as a central theme, with 133 exhibitors showcasing solutions in AI, digitalization, and automation to expedite the energy transition.
Equitable financing for the future
Shri Hardeep S Puri, minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, India, stressed the significance of collaboration and equitable financing for an inclusive energy future. He remarked on the importance of recognizing the challenges faced by the Global South and stated that to facilitate the transition, it is essential to utilize available tools and invest in the future while ensuring that affordable fuels coexist with green energy.
Financing frameworks and investment
The need for new financing frameworks in an evolving energy landscape was a key focus at ADIPEC 2024, as highlighted by the inaugural Finance & Investment Conference. This conference provided a platform for leaders from government, finance, and energy to address the gap between capital flows and the investments needed for a fair and inclusive energy ecosystem.
Key deals announced
Key deals announced at ADIPEC included ADNOC Drilling’s acquisition of a 95 percent stake in Deep Well Services for $223 million, TA’ZIZ’s allocation of over $2 billion for crucial infrastructure at Al Ruwais Industrial City, and BGP Inc.’s $490 million contract with ADNOC to expand the world’s largest 3D seismic survey in Abu Dhabi.
Innovative solutions in LNG and research
Additionally, Black & Veatch and Baker Hughes launched plans for a mid-scale LNG solution capable of producing up to 2 million tonnes per annum, while JOGMEC and the International Energy Forum signed a Memorandum of Understanding to foster research in carbon capture and clean hydrogen.
