ADNOC announced that its In-Country Value (ICV) Program has contributed to the creation of 17,000 job opportunities for Emirati talent in cooperation with its strategic partners in the private sector, reflecting the significant impact and positive results the program has achieved since its launch in 2018.

During the fourth edition of Make it in the Emirates, Eng. Salem Bafaraj, vice president, in-country value and industrial development at ADNOC Group, stated that the company is focused on training and empowering Emirati talent, in line with the wise leadership’s vision to invest in young national cadres, enhance their skills and develop their capabilities.

Enabling national talent in vital sectors

“We witnessed a strong turnout from qualified Emirati professionals, which reflects their enthusiasm and commitment to contributing to the energy and industrial sectors. Their eagerness to explore the job opportunities presented during the event is commendable,” Bafaraj added.

Bafaraj praised the positive engagement of participants and expressed his eagerness to continue supporting Emirati youth toward a promising professional future, in alignment with the leadership’s vision of empowering national cadres across vital sectors.

He emphasised that ADNOC aims to enable national talent to enter the workforce effectively, reaffirming the company’s unwavering dedication to developing and empowering Emirati competencies, while contributing to industrial growth, economic diversification and the creation of sustainable value for the UAE through the diversification of job opportunities and the acquisition of advanced and emerging skills.

ADNOC targets $24.5 billion in local procurement by 2030

ADNOC is targeting the procurement of locally manufacturable products worth up to AED90 billion ($24.5 billion) by 2030. For his part, Dr. Saleh Alhashmi, director of the commercial and in-country value directorate at ADNOC, expressed the company’s pride in its strategic partnership with the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in supporting the Make it in the Emirates initiative through the In-Country Value (ICV) program.

On the sidelines of Make it in the Emirates 2025, Alhashmi said that the initiative aims to boost opportunities for manufacturers, empower entrepreneurs and build a robust and sustainable industrial sector. He noted that through the enhanced version of the program, ADNOC aims to redirect up to AED200 billion to the national economy over the next five years, thereby supporting strategic projects and strengthening the resilience of the industrial base.

Since its launch in 2018, the program has redirected AED242 billion into the local economy and generated more than 17,000 job opportunities for Emiratis in the private sector.

Alhashmi highlighted that ADNOC is a key supporter of the Make it in the Emirates initiative through its program to boost national content in the industrial sector, a fundamental pillar of the company’s strategy to localize industry and enhance the resilience of the national economy.

Moreover, he emphasized that ADNOC, in collaboration with strategic entities and private sector companies, is working to unlock new opportunities for local industries and lay the foundations for a prosperous and sustainable economy, thereby reinforcing the UAE’s position as a competitive industrial hub both regionally and globally.
