The Advanced Mobility Hub (AMH), a subsidiary of Multi Level Group, recently announced that it is launching the UAE’s first trial vertiport in Abu Dhabi, with the support of the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council. It is also advancing sustainable transportation in the emirate by conducting the first self-driving test at the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal in Port Zayed, part of AD Ports Group.
“This project is a key element to support smart and sustainable transportation system and ground stations, and this plan aims to enrich the experience of cruise passengers and contribute to enhancing tourism activities in the UAE, by providing air tours to see the tourist attractions in the emirate of Abu Dhabi,” stated Mohamed Salah, CEO of Multi Level Group.
Leading Abu Dhabi’s smart transportation growth
To launch the first trial vertiport in UAE, Multi Level Group and AD Ports Group signed an agreement, marking a milestone in the development of the operational environment for autonomous transport. The agreement also supports Abu Dhabi’s plans to enhance the transportation sector with smart transportation, ground stations, and autonomous driving technology. This, in turn, supports the emirate’s long-term goal of exporting the operation and manufacture of advanced technology sectors, including self-driving drones.
The launch of the first trial vertiport in UAE also aims to contribute to attracting the latest technologies and creating an integrated environment to support technological development.
Vertiport to serve tourism, logistics
The first trial vertiport in UAE project comes after the completion of all approvals and requirements from the relevant authorities. It represents the cornerstone for the development of advanced mobility solutions through the operation and development of the necessary infrastructure. The project also aims to lead to opportunities for sustainable transportation using e-vtol and autonomous aircraft capable of vertical take-off and landing. It aims to hold a capacity ranging from two to five individuals, as well as logistics services of heavy or light types.
“We are always looking for new opportunities and creative ideas to increase our efficiency and excellence. We are keen to provide our customers with the most enjoyable experiences in an environmentally friendly manner as part of our endeavor to promote sustainability.
