Emirate of Ajman records 7 percent growth in tourism revenue in Q1-24.

The Emirate of Ajman saw a notable boost in its tourism sector during the first quarter of 2024.

According to a recent statement from the Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD), the total tourism revenue saw a 7 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023. This growth can be attributed to a 3 percent rise in occupancy rates and a 9 percent increase in visitor numbers.

Furthermore, the average duration of hotel stays also showed a positive trend, with a 5 percent increase. The release of these figures coincided with the start of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024 event, currently taking place from May 6 to May 9, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. ATDD is actively participating in the event.

Looking back at 2023, the month of October stood out with a 5 percent increase in tourism activity, leading to a significant 11 percent rise in visitor numbers. This surge in occupancy rates contributed to a 5 percent growth in revenue per available room (RevPAR), ultimately resulting in an 11 percent increase in total revenue on an annual basis.
