Qatari mountaineer Sheikha Asma Al Thani accomplished a remarkable feat lately when she reached the summit of Annapurna 1. She had been waiting for a weather window since March to attempt the climb and finally got the chance to do so. The journey was challenging, and she described it as testing every part of her body and mind. Despite the difficulties, she remained determined to make it up and down safely.

Sheikha Asma Al Thani is an accomplished mountaineer and sports enthusiast who is on a mission to complete the Explorers Grand Slam. She has already made significant progress towards this goal, having conquered seven out of the 14 mountains that rise above 8000m. Her previous summits include Everest, K2, and Mount Denali.

After reaching the summit of Annapurna 1, Sheikha Asma Al Thani received congratulations from various quarters. The Qatar Olympic Committee called it a new Arab achievement and praised her for reaching the top.

Conquering Annapurna 1 was not an easy journey for Sheikha Asma Al Thani. At one point, she faced difficulties due to a lack of oxygen and had to be helped by the well-known mountaineer Nirmal Purja. She praised Purja for his leadership and decision-making skills, which played a crucial role in ensuring their safety.
