Twelve Arab stock exchanges from all Arab countries will ring their bells to celebrate equality on International Women’s Day 2022 under the slogan “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow” in order to highlight the contributions of women and girls around the world who lead climate action in terms of adaptation and mitigation and build a response to it for a more sustainable future for all.

A figure rings a bell advocating for gender equality against a light background.

According to UN Women, the following financial markets will ring their bells tomorrow: Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, Amman Stock Exchange, Bahrain Stock Exchange, Casablanca Stock Exchange, Kuwait Stock Exchange, Dubai Gold, and Commodities Exchange, Dubai Financial Market, Muscat Stock Exchange, Palestine Stock Exchange, Egyptian Stock Exchange, and the Tunis Stock Exchange.

The authority said on its official website that the bell-ringing event, which is the fruit of the partnership between UN Women, the United Nations Global Compact, the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, the International Finance Corporation, and the World Federation of Exchanges, is being held for the eighth year in a row.

The events will bring together companies working in favor of gender equality and will promote global principles of women’s empowerment as a means to enhance women’s participation in the economy and their importance for inclusive and greener growth.
