The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs removed Qatar from the list of nations where travel is restricted.

This came shortly after a bilateral meeting between the Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the King of Bahrain, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, that took place on Saturday on the sidelines of the Jeddah Summit, which was hosted in Saudi Arabia.

Photos from the meetings provided warm and positive signals about the development of the situation between Bahrain and Qatar, as the Al-Ula summit reconciliation did not take place between these two counties, but rather between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the UAE.

After cutting diplomatic ties with Qatar in 2017, Bahrain banned its residents from visiting Qatar without a special permit from the Ministry of Interior, but without providing an official justification on the website of the Bahraini Foreign Ministry.

The 2017 diplomatic crisis was triggered when Saudi, Bahrain, the UAE, and Egypt severed diplomatic ties with Qatar, imposing a land, air, and sea blockade on the country.
