Whether you are a UAE resident, or a tourist who is planning to visit the UAE, this is one simple service everyone can use. A valid UAE visa is a mandatory requirement for all expats in the country, whether they are residents or tourists.
While most of us remember the general month of our visa expiry, we usually don’t remember the date. Knowing the exact date becomes even more important for a tourist, who must visit the UAE within a specified period mentioned on their tourist visa. In case flights are rescheduled at the last minute, knowing the exact date for entering the country can be crucial.
Thankfully, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has made available a simple tool with which anyone who holds a UAE residence or tourist visa can check its validity.
Here’s how you can use the tool
- Step 1: Visit the ICP’s smart service link by clicking here
- Step 2: In the radio button box, select whether you want to search by file number or passport information. Selecting by passport information is usually the easier option, as most of us have a copy of our passport in our emails, phones or laptops.
- Step 3: Select the visa type. If you are a UAE resident, select the ‘residency’ radio button. Tourists should select the ‘visa’ option.
- Step 4: Enter your passport number in the first text field.
- Step 5: Enter your passport expiry date in the second text field.
- Step 6: Select your nationality from the dropdown provided.
- Step 7: Verify yourself by clicking on the captcha checkbox.
- Step 8: Click on search.
Once you enter these details, the web page gives you all the details related to your UAE visa status.
