Dubai International Airport (DXB) is set to welcome over 3.7 million guests from June 12 to June 25, Dubai Airports said on Tuesday.

With Eid Al Adha holidays approaching and schools set to proceed on a summer break, several UAE residents are looking to make the most of the vacation time.

The average daily traffic during this period will be 264,000, while June 22 is expected to be the busiest day with guest numbers likely to exceed 287,000.

A hassle-free journey

The airport has advised Emirates passengers to take advantage of the airline’s home, early and self-check-in facilities, while flydubai passengers are advised to arrive at least four hours prior to departure.

Guests flying with other airlines should aim to arrive at DXB no earlier than three hours before their scheduled departure time, utilising online check-in where available to save time.

Stellar Q1

DXB made a stellar start to the year by recording its busiest quarter in history.

In Q1, the airport witnessed a significant surge in passenger numbers, with 23 million guests passing through its terminals, an 8.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

The growth underscores DXB’s appeal to major markets and its contribution to Dubai’s prominence as an international destination for tourism and trade.

Total passenger traffic for the quarter reached 23,052,060, with January recording the highest traffic at 7.9 million guests.

The airport has also revised its annual forecast to 91 million guests, surpassing the previous annual record of 89.1 million in 2018.

DXB is ranked as the world’s number one airport by international passenger numbers for 2023, as announced by the Airports Council International (ACI).
