The UAE Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative is a national endeavor aimed at reducing emissions and attaining climate neutrality by 2050. This milestone makes the UAE the first country in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to publicly declare its objective of reaching climate neutrality. The initiative aligns with the objectives of the Paris Climate Agreement, which aims to encourage countries to develop and adopt long-term strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
