Dubai Chambers, SGS partner to facilitate export of local products and services globally

Dubai Chambers has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SGS Gulf Limited to support and facilitate the export of products and services from local companies into global markets.

The agreement will enable companies to ensure that their products and services comply with the standards of 176 countries. Through SGS Gulf Limited’s services, companies will be able to boost their ability to expand globally. Moreover, they can ensure meeting all of the regulatory requirements in their target markets.

Hakan Sebukcebe, managing director of SGS Middle East, commented: “Our consistent investment in various facilities and testing laboratories is designed to ensure all products exported from the UAE meet and exceed the highest regulatory standards applicable in their destination markets.”

Facilitating global market expansion

The agreement falls under Dubai International Chamber’s new ‘Global Partnership Program’. This program aims to accelerate the chamber’s efforts in attracting foreign investments. Moreover, it supports the expansion of local companies into promising global markets by collaborating with world-class service providers across eight trade categories. These efforts fall in line with the objectives of the Dubai Global initiative.

“Our cooperation with SGS Gulf Limited will facilitate export procedures to global markets, enhance the local business community’s potential for sustainable growth, and advance the development of the national economy,” Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers.

Global Partnership Program

The Global Partnership Program offers several services that aim to expedite processes and simplify operations. Moreover, it aims to reduce costs and minimize risks for members.

Therefore, the Dubai Chambers and SGS agreement will support the program across the chamber’s 31 international representative offices. This growing network will play a key role in achieving the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) goals, which seek to double the size of the emirate’s economy in the next 10 years. Moreover, it aims to solidify Dubai’s position among the top three global cities.
