Dubai Customs has announced that its Passenger Operations Department managed over 1.23 million bags for 281,775 passengers aboard 187 cruise ships from January to November 2024.
This highlights the Department’s dedication to delivering top-tier customs services at Port Rashid and Dubai Harbour, especially as Dubai’s maritime tourism sector continues to flourish, according to a statement.

Khalid Ahmed, director of the Passenger Operations Department at Dubai Customs, emphasized the Department’s crucial role in bolstering the growth of tourism in Dubai. Moreover, as the 2024-2025 cruise season begins, Dubai is poised to welcome some of the largest cruise ships in the world at Port Rashid and Dubai Harbour, WAM reported. This season is anticipated to see an influx of mega cruise liners, further solidifying Dubai’s status as a leading global tourist destination.
