Dubai International to welcome 2.5 million passengers from February 20 to 28

Dubai International (DXB) is set to welcome over 2.5 million guests from February 20 to 28, averaging around 280,000 travelers daily and peaking at more than 295,000 on Saturday, February 22. This surge in visitors is attributed to a blend of global events and school holidays across significant markets, making this one of the busiest travel periods for DXB.

Travelers are encouraged to utilize the Dubai Metro for transportation to and from the airport, as well as between Terminals 1 and 3. For those arriving at Terminal 1, please note that the Arrivals bus stop will be out of service starting February 21. Alternative transport options and updated bus schedules can be found on the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) website.

DXB named world’s busiest international airport for 10 years in a row

The Airports Council International (ACI) announced that Dubai International (DXB) has retained its status as the world’s busiest international airport for international travel in 2023, marking the 10th consecutive year of this achievement. As international air travel continues to rebound following the COVID-19 pandemic, ACI’s preliminary list of the top 10 busiest airports highlights the shifting dynamics of the global aviation sector.

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, conveyed deep pride in DXB’s accomplishment, underscoring the airport’s decade-long leadership in international air travel. “Throughout this decade, DXB has surpassed many records and attained numerous milestones, from welcoming our billionth passenger to introducing new terminals and facilities,” Griffiths remarked.

DXB leads in global aviation

Griffiths further attributes DXB’s success over the past 10 years to collaborations with multiple airlines which broadened the airport’s connectivity. Moreover, he shed light on the importance of enhancing the airport experience for travelers. DXB’s commitment to excellence has set a new benchmark in the aviation sector, reiterating the airport’s leading position in the aviation sector.
