The Mental Wealth Framework, endorsed by Sheikh Hamdan, introduces a comprehensive set of initiatives to enhance Dubai's reputation as a preferred destination for quality of life.

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has launched a comprehensive AED105 million ($28.58 million) framework to support the mental well-being of Dubai’s community. This initiative aligns with the objective of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 to make Dubai the world’s best destination for living, working, and visiting.

His Excellency Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, director general of the DHA, stated that this framework is guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to strengthen Dubai’s status as a leading global city. The Mental Wealth Framework, endorsed by Sheikh Hamdan, introduces a comprehensive set of initiatives to enhance Dubai’s reputation as a preferred destination for quality of life.

Prioritizing mental well-being

Al Ketbi further highighted that mental well-being is an integral part of community health and a key strategic objective for major cities globally. Achieving this requires scientific and systematic interventions to manage the demands and pressures of daily life.

Designing a tailored approach

Moreover, the framework is designed to enhance Dubai’s unique lifestyle proposition and support the diverse, harmonious nature of its community. It is based on the latest best practices for promoting mental well-being and employs innovative solutions to achieve the highest levels of overall well-being, benchmarking against the top six global models.

Aligning with the Dubai Social Agenda

Additionally, the initiative supports the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 to establish an effective social system and develop a highly efficient health system that promotes healthy lifestyles and quality of health, preventive, physical, and mental services.

Key objectives

The framework includes ten initiatives to be implemented over five years. Also, the strategic goals include developing a comprehensive model of care for mental well-being services, early detection and intervention, and providing high-quality care, support, and counseling.

Promoting research and innovation

Other objectives include promoting research and innovation to ensure continuous measurement and achievement of psychological and community stability, with a focus on prioritized segments like the elderly, children, people of determination, and those with chronic diseases.
