The limousine transport industry in Dubai has experienced consistent growth, with passenger numbers reaching 37,858,890 in the first half of 2024. This represents a significant increase from 25,223,984 during the same period in 2023, marking an increase of 12,634,906 passengers and reflecting a 50 percent growth. The sector encompasses both traditional and e-hailing limousine services.
In the first half of 2024, the total number of trips in this sector was 21,757,983, compared to 14,496,543 in the same timeframe the previous year, indicating an increase of 7,261,440 trips, or a 50 percent surge.
Performance metrics and outcomes
Adel Shakri, the Director of Planning and Business Development at Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority, stated that the essential sector has shown sustained growth over the past six years. To accommodate the rising demand for this mode of transportation, he noted that the number of companies expanded from 123 in the first half of last year to 244 in the first half of this year. He explained that this increase in companies has naturally resulted in a rise in vehicles, from 9,544 to 14,480 in the same period.
Shakri also mentioned that analyzing the sector’s performance metrics in the emirate for the first half of this year reveals substantial outcomes, highlighting RTA’s dedication to enhancing this vital transport sector. He added that the innovative services offered improve customer experience and satisfaction, contributing to the economic and digital advancement of the emirate. These results further reinforce Dubai’s status as a global center for business, investment, and tourism.
