Dubai Production City, the region’s leading destination for printing, packaging and production, revealed a 13 percent year-on-year growth in its customer base during the first quarter of 2024.
Part of TECOM Group PJSC, Dubai Production City has seen remarkable growth in light of a surge in global demand for pathways to accelerate the print and production sector. Moreover, it attributes its performance to the UAE’s pro-innovation environment which attracts global talent to the country’s business landscape.
Global commercial printing market surges
Due to the surge in customer demand, Dubai Production City recorded solid growth, positioning it as a major player in the global commercial printing market, which reached a size of $494.5 billion last year. Moreover, the global market will witness further compounding growth of 3 percent from 2024 to 2030, according to Grand View Research.
“Digitization is a driving force for positive disruption in the print and production industry, and we must endeavor to leverage its true potential to secure the sector’s sustainable growth,” said Majed Al Suwaidi, senior vice president of Dubai Production City, Dubai Media City and Dubai Studio City at TECOM Group PJSC.
Al Suwaidi also noted that this transformation must occur in the whole industry with the support of the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’ and the Future Research and Innovation Strategy in Germany. Al Suwaidi was speaking on the sidelines of drupa, a trade fair for the printing and graphics sector taking place from May 28 to June 7 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Dubai Production City’s global expansion
The sector has seen exponential technological improvement recently with the introduction of faster presses, new toner processes, and 3D printing.
