Dubai’s Museum of the Future has announced that it has attracted over 3 million visitors from 177 countries around the globe in less than three years since its grand opening on February 22, 2022.
His Excellency Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, chairman of the Museum of the Future, emphasized that this achievement reflects the museum’s success in fulfilling the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, as well as Ruler of Dubai. The museum has established itself as a symbol of hope and innovation, acting as a platform dedicated to shaping, anticipating, and designing the future across various key sectors, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for communities around the world.
Driving global change
His Excellency indicated that the Museum of the Future plays a crucial role in spearheading global initiatives aimed at promoting positive transformation and creating a sustainable, human-centered future. He noted that the museum will persist in unifying visions and aspirations, preparing the world for upcoming opportunities over the years and decades ahead.
He further remarked that over the past three years, the museum has solidified both the region’s and the Arab world’s contributions to human knowledge and scientific advancement. His Excellency mentioned that it has been pivotal in examining the relationship between humanity and technology in the future, inspiring young minds to embark on their journeys of learning, creativity, and innovation with boundless curiosity and determination.
Nexus for collaboration
His Excellency Al Gergawi also highlighted that the Museum of the Future, which originated from the ‘World Government Summit,’ has evolved into a global nexus for conferences, forums, and events. It serves as a gathering place for leading futurists and foresight institutions, nurturing impactful partnerships that pave the way for new avenues of collaboration and progress. In line with its mission as a global center for innovation and future foresight, the museum continues to influence the future landscape.

Headquarters for great Arab minds
The Museum of the Future, Dubai Media Office reported, plays a vital role in igniting a scientific and intellectual movement within the region, uniting exceptional Arab minds to channel their creative energies towards building a brighter future for all. It provides a platform for scientists, thought leaders, and researchers to present innovative ideas and scientific visions that contribute to accelerating development across various fields. The museum has become the official home for a visionary program dedicated to honoring and recognizing the brightest minds throughout the Arab world, empowering future generations by acknowledging their accomplishments and equipping them with the tools necessary for success.
Global Futures Society
Serving as a think tank for collaboration with international partners and specialized research institutions, the museum is focused on studying current and future challenges to devise innovative solutions. It brings together 60 of the world’s foremost foresight institutions, all of which are part of the Global Futures Society, an initiative initiated by the Dubai Future Foundation within the Museum of the Future.
A global hub for world leaders and dignitaries
Since its inception, the Museum of the Future has established itself as a premier destination for visitors to Dubai and the UAE. The museum has hosted numerous official delegations, including heads of state, government leaders, senior officials, and notable global figures.
Global events
The museum has organized approximately 380 significant events in areas such as future governance, space exploration, technology, economics, and business, making it a key venue for top experts, specialists, and decision-makers to forecast and shape various sectors in Dubai and beyond. Additionally, it has welcomed 470 media delegations from around the world to cover its events and innovative experiences.
Home to region’s first AI Retreat
One of the museum’s standout events this year was the ‘AI Retreat,’ held last June. Sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Dubai Future Foundation, this retreat gathered over 1,000 decision-makers and experts from both the public and private sectors to explore the adoption of Artificial Intelligence applications.
World’s largest gathering of futurists
Annually, the Museum of the Future hosts the ‘Dubai Future Forum,’ recognized as the world’s largest assembly of futurists and subject matter experts, organized by the Dubai Future Foundation to explore the future of essential sectors. The previous two editions attracted 3,500 experts from more than 100 countries. The museum is set to host the third edition of the forum on November 19-20, 2024.
Future talks and future experts
Throughout the year, the museum conducts various discussions as part of the ‘Future Talks’ series, which delves into topics related to future foresight and AI applications across diverse sectors, from the arts and culture to skill development in AI model training workshops. In addition to ‘Future Talks,’ the museum has launched the Future Experts Programme, a dynamic initiative that convenes global specialists in areas such as AI, technology, and scientific research. This program further encourages collaboration on pioneering projects, allowing participants to contribute visionary ideas and practical solutions for future challenges. Through this initiative, the museum continues to empower thought leaders and inspire the next generation of innovators.
Ramadan Majlis
During the holy month of Ramadan, the museum hosted a series of sessions under the ‘Ramadan Majlis’ program, in partnership with ‘Dubai Future Labs.’ Moreover, these sessions aimed to explore the future, foster innovative and positive thinking, and draw inspiration from ethical, societal, and Islamic principles to drive technological advancement and digital transformation.
‘Jobs of the Future’
The museum also organized several workshops centered around ‘Jobs of the Future,’ providing participants with an in-depth understanding of career opportunities in sustainability and agricultural technology. These workshops covered the essential role of sustainability consultants in guiding organizations towards more sustainable practices and examined the future responsibilities of agricultural technology specialists, with a focus on modern trends in vertical and indoor farming aimed at enhancing food production and achieving global food security.
‘Future Heroes’ summer camp
For the third consecutive year, the Museum of the Future hosted the ‘Future Heroes’ summer camp, providing children with opportunities to explore future foresight through engaging educational and recreational activities. The camp featured Emirati Astronauts Mohammed Al Mulla and Nora Al Matrooshi, in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, to stimulate children’s interest in the space sector. The camp included hands-on workshops and immersive experiences designed to enhance creativity and encourage innovation.
Future of electronic games
Last April, the museum hosted the inaugural ‘Gaming Matters Academy’ event, bringing together esports enthusiasts, experts, gaming executives, and designers from the global gaming industry, alongside major companies such as Walt Disney, Ampverse, Epic Games, and EA Sports FC.
