Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) revealed 24 innovative initiatives as part of the first phase of its Digital Strategy 2023-2030. This strategy aims to develop an agile and scalable digital infrastructure to cement Dubai’s status as the world’s smartest city.

Spanning seven key focus areas

The initiatives span seven key areas: Digital Twin, Metaverse, Robotics, Ecosystems, Enterprise Solutions, AI, and Data. The unveiling took place during an event attended by over 300 technical experts from companies like Gartner, as well as senior RTA officials.

Driving collaborative co-creation

The event further featured a series of workshops that boosted collaborative co-creation of the future of RTA’s projects through dynamic partnerships and interactive sessions. It highlighted RTA’s digital portfolio for the next seven years, focusing on areas critical for advancing its technology-driven initiatives.

RTA’s commitment to digital vision

During the event, Mohammed Al Mudharreb, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Technology Support Services Sector, emphasized the authority’s commitment to achieving its Digital Vision. He discussed the steps towards building Dubai’s futuristic transportation landscape by adopting innovative solutions, integrating smart city technologies, and leveraging digital advancements to improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

Strategic collaborations, ambitious goals

“Through strategic collaborations and visionary initiatives, RTA continues to drive progress towards a digitally empowered future,” stressed Al Mudharreb. He noted that the strategic plan outlines the necessary steps for digital integration, addresses challenges, and sets ambitious goals for the future.

Additionally, representatives from Gartner provided valuable insights into the evolving digital landscape, highlighting strategic directions for RTA’s technological advancements.

Digital collaborations

Furthermore, the event concluded with workshops underscoring the importance of digital collaborations and the need to engage private and public organizations. These workshops further aimed to raise awareness about RTA’s digital strategy and foster partnerships to enhance the authority’s technology landscape.

In addition, the event showcased RTA’s unwavering commitment to spearheading digital innovation, paving the way for transformative advancements in Dubai’s transportation sector.
