Egypt’s trade balance deficit rises to $4.2 bn

According to the Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics’ monthly bulletin, the trade balance deficit increased by 0.6 percent to $4.18 billion in August 2022, up from $4.15 billion in the same month in 2021.

Findings revealed that the value of exports fell 7.6% in August 2022, reaching $3.33 billion, down from $3.61 billion the previous year.

Additionally, imports fell by 3.2 percent to $7.51 billion in August 2021, compared to $7.76 billion in August 2021.
