The Supreme Court in Saudi Arabia has called upon Muslims throughout the kingdom to sight the crescent of the Dhu Al Hijjah moon on Thursday evening, Dhu al-Qi’dah 29, 1445 AH.
Anyone who sights the crescent moon with the naked eye or through binoculars is urged to report to the nearest court and register their testimony.

When is Eid Al Adha 2024?
Eid Al Adha falls on the 10th day of the month of Dhu Al Hijjah – the 12th and final month of the Islamic calendar – and continues until the 13th of the month. Eid Al Adha is observed after the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Makkah.
According to the official list of holidays approved by the UAE Cabinet, Dhu Al Hijjah 10 to 12 will be an official holiday for Eid Al Adha, while Dhu Al Hijjah 9 will be a holiday for Arafah Day.
When will the crescent be seen?
If the crescent is sighted on Thursday (June 6), then Friday (June 7) will mark the first day of the new Islamic month. Arafah Day will be on June 15 (Dhu Al Hijjah 9) and Eid Al Adha on June 16. In this case, UAE residents will have a holiday from June 15 to June 18.
If the crescent is not sighted on Thursday, June 6, then Saturday, June 8, will mark the first day of Dhu Al Hijjah. Arafah Day will be on June 16 (Dhu Al Hijjah 9) and Eid Al Adha on June 17. In this case, the holiday will be from June 16 to June 19.
According to the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) of the Government of Dubai, the month of Dhu Al Hijjah is likely to begin on Saturday, June 8, subject to the sighting of the moon.
