Bahrain has officially announced that March 30 will be the first day of the Eid al-Fitr 2025 holiday.
With this confirmation, work at all ministries, governmental bodies, and public institutions will be suspended for three days on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
On Thursday, His Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, issued a circular regarding the Eid holidays, designating a three-day holiday for the Kingdom. Bahrain’s circular specifies that ministries and public institutions throughout the Kingdom will close on Eid al-Fitr and for the two days that follow. Additionally, Bahrain has urged residents to observe and report any sightings of the Shawwal crescent moon on Saturday.

On Thursday, the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) has stated that the Moon Sighting Committee would meet on the evening of Saturday, Ramadan 29, 1446 AH, which corresponds to March 29, 2025, to gather testimonies regarding the sighting of the crescent moon that signals the beginning of Shawwal.
The sighting of the moon signifies the conclusion of Ramadan 2025 and the commencement of the Eid al-Fitr holiday. The council in Bahrain encouraged anyone with credible information or testimonies about the crescent moon’s sighting to promptly reach out to the Moon Sighting Committee.
