Kuwait announced today that March 30 will mark the first day of the Eid al-Fitr 2025 holiday.
With this confirmation, work at all ministries, governmental bodies, and public institutions will be suspended for three days on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
On March 16, the Al Ojairi Scientific Center in Kuwait announced that Eid Al Fitr was expected to begin on Sunday, March 30, 2025, according to astronomical calculations. The Center indicated that the crescent moon would rise at 1:57 PM on Ramadan 29 (March 29) and would only be visible for eight minutes after sunset in Kuwait, making it highly unlikely to be seen with the naked eye.

This forecast is based on scientific data; however, the official determination of the start of Shawwal—the month that begins with Eid—lies with the Sharia Moon Sighting Authority, which has the religious authority to declare the commencement of Eid.
