Emirates has announced the introduction of a fifth weekly flight on its Dubai – Antananarivo route, commencing on December 13, 2024, for a duration of four weeks. This addition aims to accommodate the increased demand from travelers during the peak holiday season. According to a statement, the new Friday flight will enhance capacity from the world’s fourth-largest island nation, offering over 1,800 seats each way each week, thereby supporting seasonal travel needs.

Since launching services to Madagascar in September, the airline‘s decision to expand capacity on its Dubai/Seychelles/Antananarivo route reflects its commitment to meeting market demand, while providing customers with greater flexibility, options, and connectivity for their travel plans.

The extra weekly flight, operating as EK707 and EK708, will feature a 3-class configuration. Tickets are available for booking now via emirates.com, Emirates World retail stores, the Emirates App, and through various travel agencies. These flights are scheduled to run from December 13, 2024, until January 10, 2025.

Improved connectivity for travelers

This temporary increase in capacity during the four-week period will supplement Emirates’ existing services on EK707 and EK708, utilizing the airline’s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which offers 360 seats across First Class, Business Class, and Economy Class.

The enhanced connectivity to the Seychelles and Madagascar provides travelers with added convenience when journeying between these destinations and other popular locations in Emirates’ extensive network, which includes the UAE, Sri Lanka, France, and select points across Europe, the UK, mainland China, and the U.S. Given Madagascar’s diverse population, which includes communities from Sri Lanka, France, China, and India, this increased capacity is expected to cater to the travel needs of passengers heading to these countries. Additionally, citizens of Seychelles can enjoy the benefit of visa-free travel to Dubai, making it an attractive option for holidays and short visits.
