Emirates Airlines announced an order for 15 additional A350-900 aircraft worth $6 billion at the Dubai Airshow. This brings the carrier’s total orders for the A350 to 65 aircraft.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline and Group, said: “We plan to deploy our A350 aircraft to serve a range of new markets. Including long-haul missions of up to 15 hours flying time from Dubai. We will work, in close cooperation, with Airbus and Rolls-Royce to ensure the best operational efficiency of our aircraft and the best flying experience for our customers.”
The first A350 is scheduled to join the Emirates fleet in August 2024.
A complete fleet of wide-body aircraft
In light of the new order, Emirates will continue receiving A350 aircraft until 2028. Moreover, the airlines ordered an additional 95 Boeing aircraft during the Dubai Air Show. Thus, Emirates’ total orders now reached 310 new wide-body aircraft.
Emirates currently operates a full fleet of wide-body aircraft, consisting of Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft. Moreover, the carrier serves more than 140 cities on six continents. It provides its customers with award-winning services on the ground and in the air.

Improvements and upgrades
Emirates Airlines had previously received the 123rd Airbus A380, the last of this model to join the fleet of the UAE air giant.
The airline received the aircraft amidst an unprecedented global pandemic. Although many flights were canceled due to the outbreak of the Omicron variant, Emirates Airlines maintained its optimism about recovery.
Emirates President Tim Clark said: “The aircraft we receive today is equipped with the latest cabin products, including premium economy class. When we compare it to the first A380 we received in 2008, we see the countless improvements and upgrades that we have invested in, to ensure a unique and unforgettable Emirates experience.”
He added, “The A380 is special in many ways. It is redefining the travel experience, serving demand efficiently at airports with limited capacity, and enhancing the growth of the company’s network. It will remain our main product and a fundamental pillar of our network plans in the coming years.”
