Emirates seeks to attract tourists from key target markets in the Middle East and Europe to Hong Kong

Dubai-based airline Emirates has reaffirmed its dedication to boosting tourism inflows by forging strategic partnerships with key destinations. The airline renewed its agreements with Tourism Seychelles and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau. Moreover, it has forged a new partnership with the Hong Kong Tourism Board.

Empowering Seychelles’ tourism sector

Emirates has extended its support to Seychelles’ tourism sector by renewing its partnership with Tourism Seychelles. Ahmed Khoory, Emirates’ SVP commercial – West Asia & Indian Ocean, and Sherin Francis, principal secretary tourism department, Tourism Seychelles, recently signed the agreement. The agreement will offer multiple initiatives including special holiday packages and marketing support. Hence, Emirates aims to drive traffic flows to Seychelles and showcase its appeal to global travelers.

“Seychelles is a key leisure destination in our network that we have proudly been operating in since 2005. Our partnership aimed at promoting tourism to the nation goes back to 2013. We remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting its tourism industry,” stated Khoory.

Strengthening Sri Lanka’s tourism

With a history spanning 38 years of serving the country, Emirates remains committed to supporting Sri Lanka’s tourism sector.

Emirates’ Khoory and Chalaka Gajabahu, chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, recently signed the agreement. Emirates’ primary goal is to support the island nation’s tourism agenda. With special packages and engagement with travel agents, Emirates aims to showcase Sri Lanka’s diverse attractions to a global audience and contribute to the nation’s tourism and trade sectors.

“Sri Lanka is one of the very first destinations Emirates launched operations to. So our 38-year relationship with the country is one we take special pride in,” added Khoory. With two direct daily flights to Colombo and an additional daily service via Malé, Emirates continues to provide passengers with world-class products and superior comfort, further enhancing Sri Lanka’s appeal as a tourism hotspot.

Fostering tourism in Hong Kong

In a bid to boost inbound tourism, Emirates has signed a strategic partnership with the Hong Kong Tourism Board. Orhan Abbas, senior vice president of commercial operations, Far East, and Becky IP, deputy executive director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, recently signed the agreement.

The agreement aims to facilitate familiarization trips, a comprehensive promotional plan, and advertising campaigns to promote tourism in Hong Kong. Moreover, it seeks to attract tourists from key target markets in the Middle East and Europe to Hong Kong. “The city has always been popular among our global customers and it continues to attract visitors all year round,” stated Abbas.
