Emirates Airline recently announced its plans to initiate a new daily service from Dubai to the Colombian capital, Bogotá, commencing on June 3rd, 2024. This strategic move not only connects Colombia with the UAE but also marks a historic milestone as the first-ever link between the greater Middle East region and the northern part of the South American continent.

South American network

The addition of Bogotá to Emirates’ flight routes will expand its South American network to four gateways. It will complement existing services to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires. With this latest destination, Emirates solidifies its presence in the Americas, now serving 19 points across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia.

The daily services between Dubai and Bogotá will operate via Miami, Florida. Emirates will notably become the pioneer airline to offer a range of premium services on the popular route between South Florida and Colombia. Emirates chose Miami as a stopover due to its robust tourism and trade links with Bogotá.

Enhanced connection

Emirates’ flights will also facilitate inbound connections to Bogotá through Dubai from 78 destinations. This will generate new passenger flows to Bogotá from high-growth markets such as the UAE, India, China, the wider Middle East, the Far East, and Australasia.

The daily flights to Bogotá, South America’s second-largest city by population, will serve the strong and growing demand for flights between Colombia and the UAE. Moreover,  they will serve customers between Colombia and numerous destinations on Emirates’ global network beyond Dubai which are not served directly from Bogotá.
