Emirates is set to launch its refurbished Boeing 777s on six U.S. routes, enhancing the travel experience across all cabin classes with the introduction of its latest Business Class seats and highly sought-after Premium Economy.
These retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft will operate direct flights to Chicago, Boston, Dallas Fort Worth, and Seattle. According to a statement, Emirates’ Premium Economy seats will now be offered on a mix of Boeing 777 and A380 aircraft, serving twelve locations across its 19-point network in the Americas.
Details of U.S. route rollout
The refurbished aircraft will make their U.S. debut starting next month and will continue until early 2025, following this schedule:
- Chicago: The retrofitted Boeing 777 will operate three times weekly on EK 235 and EK 236 beginning November 1, 2024, increasing to daily service on November 22, 2024.
- Boston: From December 10, 2024, the newly refurbished Boeing 777 will serve this route three times weekly as EK 237 and EK 238, ramping up to daily flights starting December 18.
- Dallas Fort Worth: Moreover, enhanced Boeing 777 aircraft will fly three times weekly on EK 221 and EK 222 from January 9, 2025, with daily service starting January 15, 2025.
- Seattle: The newly configured aircraft, featuring four cabin classes including Premium Economy, will begin operating on EK 229 and EK 230 from January 24, 2025.
- Newark/Athens: From February 10, 2025, the retrofitted Boeing 777 with updated interiors will operate daily on EK 209 and EK 210.
- Miami/Bogotá: The latest B777 experience will launch on EK 213 and EK 214 for four weekly flights from February 19, 2025, expanding to daily service starting March 1, 2025.
Expansion of premium economy
By February 2025, ten of the twelve U.S. gateways in Emirates’ network will feature Premium Economy on flights with the newly retrofitted Boeing 777s. This premium offering will also extend to two cities in Latin America, with Bogotá joining São Paulo. Emirates’ signature Premium Economy seats will now be available on a combination of Boeing 777 and A380 aircraft serving twelve destinations within its 19-point network in the Americas. The updated aircraft will also introduce a new Business Class with a 1-2-1 seating arrangement, enhancing privacy and comfort with fully reclined flat beds and personal mini-bars.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, commented on the expansion of Premium Economy to additional U.S. routes, noting the success of the service on flights to New York JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Houston with refurbished A380s. He emphasized the airline’s commitment to providing a consistent premium experience across more routes.
The rollout of Emirates’ refreshed aircraft featuring a four-class configuration will bring the total number of routes offering the Premium Economy product to 27 cities globally, including Dubai, by the end of 2024, utilizing 48 Boeing 777, A380, and A350 aircraft. In addition to the U.S. and Latin America, refurbished Boeing 777s will soon be flying to destinations like Geneva, Tokyo Haneda, Brussels, and Zurich.

Seamless U.S. connections
With the continued introduction of Premium Economy, U.S. customers can enjoy a higher level of comfort and luxury on flights to destinations beyond Dubai, including cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, and Singapore.
Furthermore, Emirates passengers traveling to United Airlines’ hubs in Chicago, Houston, and San Francisco can experience Premium Economy before connecting to numerous domestic points across the U.S. and cities in Canada and Latin America.
Seats can be reserved through emirates.com, the Emirates App, or through both online and offline travel agents.
The four-class Boeing 777 features either six or eight First Class suites, 38 or 40 Business Class seats arranged in a 1-2-1 layout, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 256 Economy Class seats.
In addition to the new Premium Economy offering, customers in all cabins will benefit from refreshed interiors, showcasing elegant designs and new color palettes across carpeting, wall panels, and wood finishes, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the aircraft.
