The airline's load factor averaged at an impressive 86.04 percent for the month

UAE’s flagship carrier Etihad Airways carried over 1.4 million passengers in January, the airline said, marking a 35 percent year-on-year growth in customer numbers.

Moreover, the airline’s load factor averaged 86.04 percent for the month, reflecting strong demand for its services.

Expansion of destinations

Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, highlighted the airline’s rapid expansion and growth. He stated that it now serves five additional destinations compared to the same period in 2023. With a focus on meeting customer demand, Etihad has added more flights to key destinations. This resulted in almost 27 percent more weekly departures for the summer of 2024 compared to the summer of 2023.

Notably, the airline kicked off the year by launching daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram in the Kerala region of India. This brings the total number of Indian gateways the airline serves to 10. Moreover, this move underscores Etihad’s commitment to strengthening its presence in key markets and providing enhanced connectivity options for travelers.
