Singapore becomes the fourth major city to enjoy the Etihad A380 experience in addition to London and New York, as well as Paris where the A380 will begin operations on November 1

Etihad Airways has announced that it will start flying its A380 double-decker to Singapore starting February 1, 2025. The airline will also raise the number of weekly flights to Thailand to 41 per week from the current 35 flights starting October 27 this year. The new schedule will include 21 flights to Bangkok and 20 to Phuket, compared to the current 18 and 17 flights, respectively.

With this announcement, Singapore becomes the fourth major city to enjoy the Etihad A380 experience in addition to London and New York, as well as Paris where the A380 will begin operations on November 1.

“This aircraft provides our business and leisure travelers with an exceptional flying experience and seamless connections to our Middle East, European, and North American networks,” stated Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways.

A380 double-decker

The Etihad Airways A380 double-decker which will fly to Singapore includes 68 economy seats offering four inches more legroom and 337 smart seats featuring Etihad’s innovative fixed-wing headrests and large pillows.

On the upper deck, the Business Studios feature 70 private spots and The Lobby lounge area. Each Business Studio is equipped with premium amenities designed with Armani/Casa and Wi-Fi connectivity, ensuring a productive and luxurious travel experience.

In addition, the aircraft’s First Apartments are luxurious with nine private spaces, designer tableware, leather chairs, and a large ottoman bed. First-class guests also receive personal amenities and can enjoy an exclusive shower room.

Fleet expansion

Etihad Airways recently announced its H1 2024 results, recording a 48 percent increase in profit after tax achieving AED851 million ($232 million), a significant increase from AED575 million ($157 million) in H1 2023. The airline’s total revenue increased 21 percent to AED11.7 billion ($3.2 billion), from AED9.6 billion ($2.6 billion) in H1 2023.

The airline also revealed that it now has 16 more aircraft in its fleet of 92 than at the same point last year, including three A321neos. In addition to the A380 double-decker which flying to Singapore, Etihad Airways is bringing six A321neos into operation this year, equipped with advanced CFM LEAP 1A engines.
