Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, noted a 43 percent year-on-year growth in March 2024 customer numbers. This growth aligned with the company’s strategic focus on expansion. Year-to-date (YTD) passenger figures reached 4.3 million as of March 2024, a 41 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Etihad‘s recent seasonal expansion has resulted in a 34 percent increase in weekly flights, from 642 in 2023 to 866 during the peak June-July 2024 period. This enhancement to the airline’s global connectivity supports its ongoing growth strategy.

Furthermore, Etihad announced plans for additional network expansion. This includes adding Al Qassim as the fourth destination in Saudi Arabia and increasing frequencies on European routes. Specifically, the airline will introduce double-daily flights to Frankfurt and Rome, improving convenience and operational resilience for passengers.

Etihad Airways began the year by launching daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram in the Kerala region of India. This expansion brings the total number of Indian destinations served by Etihad to 10. This move demonstrates Etihad’s commitment to strengthening its presence in key markets and providing enhanced connectivity options for travelers.
