KAOUN International

KAOUN International, the global affiliate of the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), in collaboration with the Berlin Exhibition Centre, will be hosting the GITEX EUROPE. The event is scheduled to take place from May 21st to 23rd, 2025.

After the highly successful launch of the GITEX AFRICA exhibition in Morocco in May 2023, an achievement acknowledged by independent institutions as the foremost global technology event launch, GITEX EUROPE takes its place as the second international venture under the GITEX brand. With its exploratory endeavors in dynamic markets across the globe, GITEX Global has solidified its position as a key facilitator in linking the future economies of Dubai, Africa, and now Europe.

The official signing ceremony for the exhibition witnessed the presence of Omar Sultan Al Olama, the UAE minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications. Also in attendance was Franziska Giffey, vice mayor of Berlin and state senator for Economy, Energy and Enterprise.

Continuous momentum

“Berlin is a natural partner and twin to Dubai,” said Al Olama. “Going to Berlin proves that we are able to take the best and the brightest minds from the region to Europe and also bring them back to Dubai. This is a continuous momentum that started with GITEX AFRICA and we’re hoping to make GITEX EUROPE the most successful tech event in the continent.”

Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of KAOUN International, the organiser of GITEX EUROPE, said: “The mission of GITEX is to create positive impact in the industries and economies we serve, and impact is sparked when the most imaginative, innovative and forward governments and people from diverse industries and cultures with shared ambitions come together to ignite open and honest collaborations.

GITEX EUROPE 2025 will arrive as the continent forges ahead as a global tech superpower, inspiring a resilient ecosystem that, according to recent estimates, will need to create 11 million new tech jobs by 2030 to meet the growing demand of a $3 trillion European tech sector.

Berlin’s growing prominence as a global tech hub is reinforced by its economic policies, which position the German capital as an attractive destination for innovative companies driven by a shared ambition to revolutionize the world through transformative technological advancements like AI, blockchain, and quantum computing.

Berlin has experienced a global surge in tech talent, entrepreneurs, and investors, resulting in the emergence of a vibrant and digitally savvy community. Currently, the city is home to 5,600 tech start-ups and scale-ups, with a remarkable statistic that every second euro of German funding is directed towards a start-up located in Berlin.

With its vibrant ecosystem of accelerators like Berlin Partner, Berlin has been recognized as the top choice for start-up ventures. The city’s urban landscape has fostered the growth of 25 unicorns and provided a nurturing environment for tech giants such as N26, SumUp, and Auto1 Group.
