The ICP smart services are a bouquet of services offered by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP).
The ICP smart services websites provides all kinds of services related to tourist visas, residence visas, golden visas, Emirates ID, renewal of passports, issuing entry and exit permits, etc.
What is ICP?
The ICP was established in 2004 under the name Emirates Identity Authority to establish the ‘Population Register and Emirates Identity Card Program’, which included recording personal and vital data for all population in the country and keeping them in electronic databases, and issuing the Emirates ID card for each individual.
In 2017, the department’s name was changed to Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, and new functions were assigned to it, such as citizenship affairs, passports, entry and residence of foreigners in the state, among others.

For ease of access, the ICP website has divided its services into multiple categories: individuals, organisations, golden residency, priority services, applying for exemption from fines, services for people of determination and senior residents.
In this article we will look at services for individuals, which include the following:
Renewal of passports of UAE citizens abroad
This service helps renew expired passports while citizens are outside the country for reasons of treatment or study. After the passport is printed, it is delivered to the UAE embassy in the respective country.
Fees: The service costs a total of AED65, including AED10 in request fee, AED40 for issuance, and AED15 for delivery.
Apply for a new ID card
This service is used when an identity card is issued for the first time to an individual who has not previously registered or had an identity number issued.
Fees: Card issuance fee of AED100, a service fee of AED150, and AED30 fee for the typing center. A fee of AED150 is applicable when requesting for urgent service at the customer happiness center.
Renew ID card
This service helps renew an ID card that has expired or is about to expire.
Fees: AED100 for card issuance, AED40 service fee, and AED30 typing center fee. If you want urgent service, pay an additional AED150.
Issue entry permit
This service helps issue entry permits to the country for specific periods, either for tourism, visit, work or residence.
It is mandatory that the permit holder enter the country within 60 days from the issuance of the permit. Otherwise, the permit is cancelled.
This permit is divided into several categories:
- Entry permit for a visit for the purpose of tourism. This includes an application fee of AED100, issuance fee of AED100 per month in case of one trip, issuance fee of AED200 per month in case of several trips, electronic services fee of AED150, financial guarantee for one trip of AED1,000 (AED2,000 in case of several trips).
- Multi-tourist visa for a period of 5 years: This service grants a multi-entry (five-year) tourist visa. This allows the visa-holder to stay in the country for a period of 90 days. The visa can be extended once for a similar period. This means the visa holder can only stay in the country for a total of 180 days continuous. Fees: The service includes an application fee of AED100, issuance fee of AED500, and electronic services fee of AED150, financial guarantee of AED3,000.
- Entry permit for visiting a relative or friend includes an application fee of AED100, issuance fees of AED100 AED per month for one trip, and AED200 per month for several trips, electronic services fee of AED150, financial guarantee of AED1,000 for one trip and AED2,000 for several trips.
- Entry permit for business-related work comes with an application fee of AED100, issuance fees of AED100 AED per month for one trip, and AED200 per month for several trips, electronic services fee of AED150, financial guarantee of AED1,000 for one trip and AED2,000 for several trips.
- If exploring job opportunities, the permit includes an application fee of AED100, issuance fees of AED100 AED per month for one trip, and AED200 per month for several trips, electronic services fee of AED150, financial guarantee of AED1,000 for one trip and AED2,000 for several trips.
- For exploring business opportunities, the permit comes with an application fee of AED100, issuance fees of AED100 AED per month for one trip, and AED200 per month for several trips, electronic services fee of AED150, financial guarantee of AED1,000 for one trip and AED2,000 for several trips.
- For the purpose of treatment: This includes an application fee of AED100, issuance fees of AED100 AED per month for one trip, and AED200 per month for several trips, electronic services fee of AED150, financial guarantee of AED1,000 for one trip and AED2,000 for several trips.
Amend entry permit
This service helps make a request to amend an entry permit to the country.
Fees: This service has an application fee of AED50 and a electronic services fee of AED10.
Extend entry permit
This service helps make a request to extend an entry permit to the country. The extension period depends on the type of entry permit issued in terms of duration.
Entry permits for tourism allow an extension for 30 days twice. Entry permits for residents of GCC countries allow an extension once for 30 days.
Fees: The service has a request fee of AED100, issuance fee of AED500, and e-services fee of AED10 in case of entry permit for tourism. In case of extending entry permit for residents of GCC countries, the request fee is AED200, issuance fee is AED500, and e-services fee is AED10.
Cancel entry permit
This service helps make a request to cancel the entry permit or visa before the individual enters the country.
Fees: AED50 as request fees and AED10 as electronic services fees.
Issue exit permit
This service helps make a request to issue an exit permit.
Fees: This service includes a request fee of AED200 and an electronic services fee of AED150.
Cancel exit permit
This service helps make a request to cancel an exit permit.
Fees: The service includes a request fee of AED200 and an electronic services fee of AED150.
Amend residency permit
This service helps modify the data of residence permits.
Fees: The service includes an order fee of AED50 and an e-services fee of AED10.
Cancel residency permit
This service helps cancel residence permits.
Fees: This service includes an order fee of AED50 and e-services fee of AED10.
Issue passport
This service helps issue a new passport.
Fees: The request fees is AED10, issue fees is AED40 and delivery fees is AED15.
Renew passport
This is a service that helps renew a passport that has expired or is about to expire.
Fees: The request fees is AED10, issue fees is AED40 and delivery fees is AED15.
Issue residency visa
This service helps issue residence visas under several categories, such as newborns, support workers (application submitted through Tadbeer offices only), resident family members.
Fees: In case of newborns, the application fee is AED100, issuance fee is AED100 for each year, and e-channel service fee is AED150.
For support workers, the application fee is AED100, issuance fee is AED100 for each year, and e-channel service fee is AED150 when sponsored by a UAE national or GCC citizen. When support workers sponsored by residents, the application fee is AED100, issuance fee is AED100 for each year, e-channel service fee is AED150, domestic help recruitment charge is AED5,000, and insurance is AED2,000.
In case of residence visa for resident family members (sponsored by residents working in the private sector, public sector or free zone), the application fee is AED100, issuance fee is AED100 for each year and e-channel fee is AED100.
In case of residence visa for resident family members (sponsored by UAE national or GCC citizen, or partner of investor), the application fee is AED100, issuance fee is AED100 for each year and e-channel fee is AED150.
Renew residency visa
This service helps renew residence visas.
Fees: When renewing residence permits of support workers (done via Tadbeer offices only), the application fee is AED100, issuance fee is AED100 for each year and e-channel fee is AED150 if the sponsor is a UAE national or GCC citizen. In case the sponsor is a resident, the fee includes application fee of AED100, issuance fee of AED100 for each year, e-channel service fee of AED150, domestic help recruitment charge of AED5,000 and insurance of AED2,000.
In case of residence visa for resident family members (sponsored by residents working in the private sector, public sector or free zone, UAE nationals or GCC citizens, or partner of investor), the application fee is AED100, issuance fee is AED100 for each year and e-channel fee is AED150.
