Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairman of the Dubai Ports and Border Security Council, officially inaugurated today Intersec 2024, the world’s foremost trade fair for safety, security, and fire protection. This year’s edition, which commemorates its 25th anniversary, will be held until January 18, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) under the theme ‘Innovating security tech for a quarter century.’
With 13 expansive halls, Intersec 2024 expects to host its largest event to date in its 25-year history. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the trade fair has attracted over 1,050 exhibitors from more than 60 nations, representing a 20 percent increase from the previous year. This growth underscores the event’s significance as an essential networking platform that brings together industry leaders and showcases cutting-edge technology in Dubai.
During the prestigious opening tour of Intersec 2024, His Highness Sheikh Mansoor explored numerous exhibition stands, including Microlink, SIRA, Axis Communications, Motorola, Genetec, Corodex, NAFFCO, and others. Additionally, he also visited the German Pavilion.
Intersec’s significance as premier networking hub
Pedro Simoes, VS&A CVP, International Sales at Motorola Solutions, expressed his excitement about participating in the grand opening tour of Intersec 2024. He highlighted the opportunity to present their ecosystem of fixed video, analytics, and access control technologies that effectively safeguard individuals, property, and locations. The company showcased advanced solutions from the Avigilon security suite, along with the new Pelco open-platform security camera. Simoes also mentioned the honor of having His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visit their booth and inaugurate the event.
For his part, Grant Tuchten, portfolio director at Intersec organizer Messe Frankfurt Middle East, emphasized the significance of Intersec as the region’s premier networking hub for fire, safety, and security professionals for the past 25 years. He noted that this year’s edition was the largest yet, with a 20% expansion compared to 2023. Intersec 2024 aims to showcase innovation and digital security, bringing together industry professionals from around the world to address the ever-evolving needs of the sector.
Tuchten also expressed pride in the exhibition’s strong partnerships with key UAE government entities, highlighting the UAE Government’s unwavering commitment to these essential industries.
Sustainable security and combating environmental crimes
The Intersec 2024 conference programs kicked off today with several engaging events. The exclusive Security Leaders’ Summit (ISLS) focused on sustainable security and combating environmental crimes. Simultaneously, the Cyber Security Conference, hosted by the UAE Cybersecurity Council, began with a keynote speech highlighting the importance of cybersecurity intelligence in enhancing national security. The Safety & Health Conference provided an update on the UAE Standard for Occupational Health and Safety Governance and Leadership. At the same time, the Fire & Rescue Conference featured panel discussions on leveraging data analytics and technology to revolutionize fire prevention and advancing safety in energy storage.
In another part of Intersec 2024, the Live Attack Zone, in partnership with the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), showcased the capabilities and effectiveness of various physical security products through real-time demonstrations by forced-entry specialists such as Frontier Pitts, A1 Fencing, ABUS, and NAFFCO.
The in{:cyber} pavilion brought together global cybersecurity vendors like Amstergi, Seagate, and Zycoo, who showcased cutting-edge innovations and the latest products that are reshaping the digital defense landscape. The Hack Arena within the in{:cyber} pavilion allowed participants to exhibit their expertise in diverse cybersecurity domains. Additionally, Day 1 at the Innovators Arena focused on the role of startups in the fields of cybersecurity and national security.
Intersec’s 25th edition will feature five main product sections, catering to various industries. These sections include Commercial & Perimeter Security, Homeland Security & Policing, Fire & Rescue, Safety & Health, and Cyber Security. With a comprehensive range of solutions tailored to each industry segment, Intersec 2024 provides a convenient and centralized platform for attendees.
The event will continue on January 17th and 18th, taking place at Halls 1-8, Saeed Arena, Saeed 1-3 & Pavilion at DWTC.
