Broadened collaboration in key areas

The six agreements and memoranda signed during the latest committee session are designed to broaden collaboration in key areas. In tourism, an executive program for cooperation covering the years 2025 to 2027 aims to boost joint initiatives, promote cultural exchange, and facilitate the movement of tourists between the two countries.

A memorandum of understanding was also signed to enhance cultural cooperation, which includes joint events, exchanges, and the preservation of shared heritage. Furthermore, agreements were reached to drive cooperation in higher education, research, and student exchanges, supporting academic collaboration and capacity building.

In terms of labor mobility, both countries agreed to facilitate the movement of workers, streamline procedures, and address labor market needs. Additionally, a mutual visa exemption for diplomatic passport holders was established to ease official travel and enhance diplomatic engagement. Lastly, the agreements encompass provisions for joint projects in industrial zones, investment facilitation, and economic modernization.

Finance and sectoral partnerships

In March 2025, Jordan and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development signed two major agreements totaling approximately $65.2 million. These agreements finance the third phase of Jordan’s public education infrastructure project and a nationwide roads and bridges rehabilitation project. The education initiative focuses on building and equipping vocational-technical schools, while the infrastructure project targets the maintenance and upgrading of over 2,500 kilometers of roads and several bridges across Jordan. These projects are part of a larger $500 million soft lending program pledged by Kuwait to support Jordan’s development priorities.

Additionally, in June 2025, Jordan Kuwait Bank and the American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (AmCham-Jordan) entered into a strategic partnership. This collaboration aims to foster private sector growth, promote investment, and support economic modernization in line with Jordan’s national development vision.
