The Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) in Kuwait has announced the launch of a new international corridor connecting Europe with the Gulf via the “Iraq route,” in collaboration with Zajil Telecom.
In a statement to KUNA, the authority highlighted that this new route serves as a complete land alternative to existing marine routes, facilitating a quicker connection, particularly since marine services can be disrupted due to maintenance activities.
The cable further boasts a capacity of 100 gigabits, positioning it as a reliable option for large corporations and global service providers. Additionally, CITRA emphasized that this development will enable swifter and more secure transmission of information from Kuwait to Europe, utilizing the pathway through Iraq.
