French construction and engineering consultancy Egis was awarded a project management consultancy (PMC) contract by Kuwait’s Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) for its mega 31.7-million Kuwaiti dinar ($103 million) Al Mutlaa City Development (MCD) project in the country.

Located 38.3km northwest of the Kuwait Metropolitan area, MCD is a residential city that is expected to house up to 400,000 people.

The city, which will come up on a 104-km2 area, boasts a mix of residential, social, commercial, and light industrial areas.

Under the terms of the agreement, Egis will offer program-level service management, construction logistics, interface management, cost management, and digital program management system and project management information system (PMIS) for the MCD project.

As one of the important priorities for the government and one of the core activities of its 2035 Vision, Kuwait is building large housing infrastructure projects.
