These contracts are integral to the ongoing initiatives to boost the country’s electrical infrastructure and ensure its long-term viability. All essential approvals from regulatory bodies have been obtained, as highlighted in a press release from the Ministry.
The first contract pertains to high-precision engineering services for a series of gas and steam turbine units that are crucial for electricity production. This contract encompasses both routine and extensive maintenance to guarantee the safe operation of the turbines, especially in anticipation of the forthcoming summer season.
Furthermore, the second contract is dedicated to the enhancement and modernization of steam boilers. These boilers are used for electricity generation and water distillation at the Doha West Station. This initiative aims to prolong the boilers’ operational lifespan by roughly 20 years. It also seeks to boost their efficiency. The upgrades are projected to lower operating expenses. Additionally, they are expected to decrease carbon emissions, thereby aiding in environmental conservation.
These initiatives underscore the Ministry’s dedication to advancing Kuwait’s energy infrastructure while promoting sustainable practices.
